Just got a new (to me) front hope wheel that’s been supplied with hub spacers to fit to my boost forks. It seems I have to redish the wheel but I’m not really sure why? I’m sore I’m missing something crucial but surely the spacers equally put it in the middle of the forks and I just need to add spacers to brake mounts so the calipers meet the disc at right place.
will i damage my wheel or forks if I don’t redish?
Either you put both spacers on one side of the hub and redish the wheel, or you put once spacer on either side and have to sort the brake alignment.
The hope spacers for boost on a non boost hub are offset. If the wheel was dished for non boost use then the rim will not be central when hope boost adaptors are used. You shouldn't need to add spacers to the caliper mount.
As above... the brake side adaprot is shorter than the non-brake side.
thus, you move the rim towards the non-brake side when dishing.
This actually makes the wheel stronger, as the rim is more central to the flanges..
DrP
where do you buy adaprots?
Hpoe do them
ive just converted a hope pro evo 2 front hub. The kit you need from hope is HUB1009-14N
I don't know if it's relevant to anyone, but MRP have started producing conversion kits and do a Hope version -

They're claiming that no re-dishing is required (brake spacer included).
I have been using the Mrp adaptors for about a month, it's just fit and forget.
