frank, yhm
guys, i have tried to mail fagus no reply...
i am still up for this, hope everyone else is.
barnes, you could now be leading the ride.
it better be good or we are all gonna duff you up matey......... ๐
Damn, that means I might have got close to meeting SFB! Shame I can't go.
Hope you guys sort out whatever differences of opinion have happened in the past. Shame I can't make it.
barnes, you could now be leading the ride.
it better be good or we are all gonna duff you up matey
I'll probably deserve it anyway ๐
but I DO know the way...
I might have got close to meeting SFB!
I'm really quite ordinary in a shouty way ๐
Who went? Was it good?
There were 10 riders, Yoshimi (Danny),Deejay (Dave), Donc (Dave), Lowey (Dave), Faz, Steve, Brian, Junkyard (Johnny), Ton (thanks for the lift Tony!), SFB (Evil antichrist)
we did 20 miles round Grizedale & Claife (and NOT Coniston as I'd expected), following most of the route chosen by Fagus but with Titty's track snuck in at the end, and a different DH to Esthwaite. As far as I could tell the others were able to resist my toxic influence, and they resisted the temptation to kick 7 shades of shite out of me and leave me bleeding and broken in the middle of nowhere :o)
And yes, it was good fun, with Deejay and I (the oldest 2) kicking the young un's arses on many of the climbs ๐
Weather initially grim and drizzly but later glorious sunshine ๐
we had to let him get to the top first you know what he is like ๐
we had to let him get to the top first you know what he is like
otherwise I'd be spitting the dummy...
Was and excellent ride with excellent company. Cheers lads... have to arrange another soon.
Who did the pics... i realised at the top of the NFT that I'd left my bloody camera in the car.
Who did the pics
I have about 300 including some not of rocks, trees and clouds ๐ Also Deejay took some...
i thought it was shyte..... ๐
yeah and that Ton is huge waste of space!!
barnes, you left you camera in my van.
i am gonna swap it on here for some spare tubes..... ๐
and to every one who came.....NICE ONE.
nice to meet you all.
What time did you set off in the end?
I would have liked to have gone but didnt get up till later than I wanted to so had to go for a ride on my own. I did cycle through Grizedale on my way back home though.
Sound like a good'un lads.
I managed to get an early blast round llandegla in the end.
Early start as long as i was back for 12:00.
Bloody busy though.
Piccies soon Simon?
Piccies soon Simon?

He rode that with consomethinge skill. A pleasure to watch safe at the rear.
He rode that with consomethinge skill.
can I just point out Dave is taking a sissy line ? Balls-out Barnes went right down the middle ๐
Was Dave there, by any chance?
Was Dave there, by any chance?
we had lots of Daves, in fact I suggested we ALL be called Dave for simplicity...
can I just point out Dave is taking a sissy line ?
In my defence my forks had stopped working and the brakes were back to the bars - poor bike preparation I know but that one had'nt been used for a while.
Yosh - how are the legs?
Had a great time today fellas-really enjoyed it-possibly the most gruling ride I've ever done but it's left me hungry for more
Really enjoyed meeting you all too, hopefully do something else again soon:)
gruelling in effort required or number of flatties ?
Oh, and I apologise for not pointing out the easy way back along the NFT ๐
In my defence my forks had stopped working and the brakes were back to the bars
I was just kiddin, you made it look very smooth ๐
How are the legs?..........not working and sore!
Thanks for being so patient with me
Ah that's ok Simon, would have felt a bit of a failure not to complete it all
Thanks for being so patient with me
Dont be daft mate... it wasn't a race, just a great social ride.
good job i didn't go or that would have been another Dave
i was the usual trail god.....
barnes was not
and yoshimi can spank it on the downs ๐
Ton's new found pleasure in all things vegetarian gave him wings - or should that be 'wind' ๐

My legs are hurting this morning - I was pushing myself not to let down the Bog Trotter name :o)
Some great pics there DJ - did you really have to include the one of me pushing up, looking ready to drop ๐ณ
did you really have to include the one of me pushing up
Don't worry Danny, I have some of you riding downhill heroically ๐ [and of Ton taking the sissy track]
did you really have to include the one of me pushing up, looking ready to drop
But you never stopped smiling
My legs are hurting this morning
Steve's leg is hurting as well - but only from your aptly named 'Suicide Drop'
but only from your aptly named 'Suicide Drop'
well, at least he can't claim he wasn't adequately warned ๐
Cheers all enjoyed the reide was super fun and legs not that achey today but definetly a rest day.
Yoshimi you would be so much faster up hill if you did not need to carry your own weight in inner tubes!!!!
That was a cracking ride, quite a hard 20 miles but some great descents. Thanks to everyone for making it such a good day out and to Yoshi for the lift. Post ride tea and cake in the car park was a nice touch too!
Excellent Pics DeeJay.
Oh, and Frank/Fagus, I'm not sure what I did to upset you, I can only suppose it was some kind of misunderstanding, but I'm famous for inadvertently antagonising people and I do apologise - I'm happy enough to ride with people I actively dislike, never mind those I cannot remember. Had you attended the ride hopefully we could have sorted the matter out. You missed a good laugh ๐
Pics up now:

Didnt realise Steve had taken a tumble at that drop...
Hope your ok mate.
Cracking pictures Simon.
Nice pics deejay and simon, those rocks on thru the wall look a lot slippier in the pics than I remember.
I heard Steve had come off but didn't realise it was that much of a slam - ouch!
Great pics Simon, really put me in the mood to go straight back!
Donk, no worries about lift, anytime pal
except for the cakes and delicious scones and the end!

he will try to make arrangments to come and pick your scab
I take pleasure in picking my own scabs - other peoples' are just gross ๐ Oh, and TJ was correct, picking them encourages infection ๐
There were 7 sequential shots of your crash.
Is'nt that kind ๐
Is'nt that kind
listen, I never want anyone to crash, but if they're gonna then surely they want every detail captured ??
... and actually I was wrong, it was 13 shots ๐
13 so it is true it is unlucky... I blame you for it now.
Looks like I missed a good one lads.
Weather looks a bit wetter than Llandegla
13 so it is true it is unlucky
but it didn't reach 13 till after the event ... unless the bad luck travels back in time ?
Simon, do you have the memorymap route saved? I had my gizmo set up wrong (recording every second rather than smartrecording) and only recorded half of it ๐ณ
If you do, be great if I could get a copy:)
Simon, do you have the memorymap route saved?
yes,it's ** HERE ** (you have to right click and do "save as" to save the GPX file)
Ah, how does that work the? some sort of copy & paste, only had memorymap a few days
hang on, didn;t read all your post there let me try
* Ride report posted *
Did you get the GPX loaded OK Danny ?
Hi Simon, I went away to RTFM but got a bit lost so gave up after a bit of swearing. I right click the link and the only save option i have is 'save target as'.....so click this, a dialogue box pops up to save but I only have the oprtion to save as a safari document.....I've had a good play but not got any further.......this is when I started to read the instructions and thought, I'll leave it till tomorrow ๐
Danny I'll email it to you ๐
serves you right for using Internet Exploder!
Has anyone been in contact with Fagus yet ?
