Was after conditions rather than an appraisal really.

But if you know of anywhere else that's better I'd appreciate the nod.

We will be in Ollerton and have about 3 hours spare.

Seems to be holding up pretty well this winter actually. I'm pushed for time tomorrow so I'll be up there in the morning.

I'm in Worksop, so not too far away - its been pretty dry today - I reckon most of the Kitchener wouldn't be too bad apart from the bits that are like a maze in the trees.

I'll be going to Clumber in the afternoon - which is probably flatter!

We went last Sat. Mud.

Mate went wednesday. Mud.

Nothing new for this time of year really, suck it up and go riding! Was going myself but my buddy is out of action and i'm not making the hours drive for solo riding.

Sounds ok to me. Seems a shame not to as I'm going to be so close anyway.

Flat is fine at the moment for me, not been anywhere over Christmas and New year so won't exactly be blazing any trails. More likely to be huffing and puffing like an old man (which is sadly what I feel like !)

"Flat featureless and dull"
Fairly flat, mostly featureless, but dull? You're not riding it fast enough ..

Went early december (so not upto date on conditions), maybe the best I've found kitchener to ride. Keep up some pedalling and pumping and I htought it rode really well. Suprised myself how well tbh. Never quite clicked with it before, then again don't think I've ridden all of it before either

Okay so they are one or two bits that don't work that well, but I'm willing to ignore those ..

Havent been round the Pines since Christmas but it wasnt the the slimey slop fest I was expecting. Even a couple of weeks before that when it was raining heavily the bulk of the trail was OK. There's a squirmy section near the start where it runs along the edge of the forest but its short and rideable so not really a pain. Even the through the aforementioned tree maze bits arent too bad and you can by-pass one of the worst bits. Dont know which section it is but its reasonably obvious when you turn into it because you turn off the short cut / through route to get into the maze.

The riding in the woods and bridleways outside the pines is better than I thought it would be, being a biased hills dweller. I suspect you need to go poaching to get the best trails - perhaps not a good time as there seems to be a lot of shooting on the go at the moment. Over the late summer / autumn nearly every prospecting ride I've done has turned something up.

Sherwood - its not bad you just have to ride it right

Just got back. Bit squishy in places but on the whole, pretty good considering the time of year.
