So, there is a possible £200 available to get a commuting bike that will enable me to ride to work on flattish tow paths and cycle routes - roughly 25 miles each day, and avoid the hilly battering/ killer drivers I currently get on road. Needs to take panniers and mudguards.
I've seen this:
which looks Ok but would be a bit heavy and need thinner faster tyres
Or
do I find the extra for this:

Smoke - a little over weight, tyres too big and has Gripshift.
Dew, has rapid fires, lighter, nicer bike alround. You might want to size up a bike as Dew top tubes are quite short.
