For long distances, [b]I use a recumbent[/b] - it's got a proper seat, not a skinny gonad-crushing leather thing. In winter, I can wear jeans, trousers, whatever. In summer, normal summer shorts. No silly clothing required, and [b]my mates don't laugh at me in the pub[/b].

I wear lycra shorts - under "proper" ones. No women like it on men - it's utterly repellent even if you have the body of a male supermodel.
