Going to be ordering a new set of wheels today (Flow Ex/Pro 2) for my Covert. And can't decide on the blue hubs or stick to black? It'll be going on this:

What do the collective blingsters think?

Gold.

But of your choices, black.

Spend the money on a Reverb.

Blue or Silver for the hubs.

Gunsmoke, or red.
But if not then black.

Hmmm gunsmoke might work! Hadn't thought of that.

Reverb is already on there. This is a bit of an old pic.

Not gold, it's the bike equivalent of this:

Go blue, but only if you're prepared to do your clamp, rotors & chainring.

Raw/silver would look good too. Only go purple if you're willing to go for ironic flat bars and stubby endz.

If you go Blue do the hubs only... do not do the rotors or anything else ๐Ÿ‘ฟ

Less is more ๐Ÿ˜‰

This, blue would be good, but easily over done.

Hope Gold is very shiny, not a fan.

The Hope Blue goes well with the Blue bearing covers already on the bike (have checked for our future upgrades)

You're clearly mad if you buy new hope hubs and don't get purple.

This was the plan. I already have black rotors waiting. But I have a feeling even blue hubs might feel a bit much. The alternative is to replace the Stans rim stickers with blue ones. A bit like this:

No, no, no alloy nipples... just thinking either black or blue hub (possibly with blue stickers).

Tbh once on the bike you don't really notice the colour of the rotors. I have blue and they actually didn't stand out as much as I'd thought they would. I also have matched seat clamp and head doctor. But looking at your bike blue would match up well with the frame and existing pivots.

I always prefer blue, but the dominant colour on your bike is the gold on the forks, so you have to match that and go for gold.

Or can you get your fork legs re-anodised?

I've got some spare black car spray paint... will that do?

I'm a recovering colour matching whore !!!! Spent fortunes over the years(yes it is part of the fun) maybe now older wiser/less money I go for silver/black hubs as easier to fit with whichever new bike you buy which we all know happens very often ๐Ÿ˜‰

Another vote for Gold.

However, blue's better than black. It'll go nicely with the pivot bolts and lockout on the forks.

Haven't Hope discontinued gold on the 40t Evos?
Keep em black, keep it classy.

Purple.

Blue. Most rides you'll look at it and think "cool".
Plus, on the man maths side, when you come to sell the wheels there are fewer sets around with blue hubs (I know, I tried buying some), so you can keep the price higher.

But as above, it's a slippery slope. Then you'll want to get the rotors to match, plus seat clamp, grip collars etc.

edit: of course you sohuld go for the "proper" option of Green... ๐Ÿ˜‰

When I bought my white Orange 5 I fantasized about tricking it out with red bits.

But then I remembered I'm not 12 ๐Ÿ™‚
