Coils for an Ohlins shock

Just acquired my first coil shocked bike.  It came with a 525lb spring on a TTX22m.2 which seems too much for my weight.

Anyone know what alternatives there are as I've found the proper Ohlins coils at TF Tuned but they're pricey at 122 quid ? especially when I might have to try a couple before getting one I'm happy with.

It's a 67mm coil apparently.

They pop on eBay and marketplace all the time. I've had 3 now (not including the one that came on the bike) and I've paid £40 max. Can't remember what weight I settled on but I think mine is 67mm. I've kept 2 and sold the other 2 on marketplace.

Sod paying £120 a pop!

I got mine for £6 on ebay... but I think I was very lucky.

CaneCreek coils fit as well, and tend to be cheaper.

I’ve always found a second hand one from someone trying to find the right weight. Never bought one full price. Will look later to see what I got but they may not be the right strole

I've just checked and the last one I bought was 67x525 for £40 posted.

That means I've got the 67x502 on the shelf in the garage. You anywhere near Sheffield?

Thanks, I'll keep looking on eBay then.

Bit farther south than that, I'm in Gloucester

Cane Creek VALT will need adapters as it's a bigger dia.

I have a sprindex on mine, its great. High initial outlay (100 or so) but great to have a bit of flexibility of spring rate without having to change it! The range of adjustment covers a couple of ohlins spring rates providing youre in the middle of the sprindex range.

Valt works fine on my ttx22m.1 without adaptors.

Needed them to fit a VALT on my Ohlins  - have to check what shock it actually is then.

Just discovered it's actually specified as a 65mm so I'm guessing from that anything within a couple of mm would be ok.

Ohlins label the stroke differently to other brands of coil. Can't remember the details.. but be careful. IIRC, it means the coils labelled 67mm are correct for a 65mm stroke shock.

I've got a 18074-10 (457) and 18074-11(480) for sale which I was running on a TTX22m, Ohlins website says 63mm stroke length.

Sprindex is the way forward, especially if you occasionally ride with/without a pack or have seasonal fluctuations in weight.

This on a Stumpy 15 by any chance? Friend of mine recently bought one and that came specced with a 525 which is way too heavy for him. He's now on a 434..

It's on a HB916, an ex-demo bike

Came with a 18077-13 525.  Looking at Hopes chart for my weight of 83kg +5kg-ish with a pack and kit I'd be better on something lighter.

Certainly looks worth trying but not at 120quid
