Has anyone fitted a coil shock to their vpp2 bike? I have a Blur LTc and am considering giving it a go, but after raking through the net I can only find one on the Competitive Cyclist website built for the Downieville race... Obviously Santa Cruz don't offer these as an option on new bikes (possibly to help distinguish between Blur LTs and Nomad customers). It will be more linear, so I am thinking it would need to be a RC4 etc that can be ramped up as opposed to a Double Barrel...

have you had a look at the MTBR forums? if it hasnt been tried and discussed I'll eat the PUSH'ed Vanilla RC I've just bought for my Mk1 Nomad (but havent got around to fitting so cant tell you how it works).

Ive seen several Nomad threads where people recommend a manitou coil shock (probably readily available in the US).

They used a large volume can DHX Air to reduce the ramp-up on the Mk1, with the side effect that it blows thru its mid-stroke travel which is why I bought a coil to try. However fettling with the myriad settings on the DHX this weekend has vastly improved things to the point I may not bother fitting the coil. I thought newer versions of the VPP were more linear so may work better with a coil (ie. dont need the ramp up)?
