Anybody know if you can or can't take Co2 cartridges on a plane. Flying with easyjet to Fuerteventura at the end of the month. By the way great place to ride, tons of technical offroad and nice quiet roads and of course sun. No mud for two weeks ๐Ÿ˜†

you can take 2 if the guy checking your stuff is fully aware of the rules.

You won't get them through I'm afraid.

"I am going on a scuba-diving holiday. How do I transport equipment such as airtanks and CO2 cartridges for buoyancy aid?

Air tanks for diving cannot be carried. Small non-toxic gas cylinders, for example those used for artificial limbs or in lifejackets, may be carried in the cabin or in hold baggage; however, you must check with your airline as they must approve the carriage of such items."

Flying easyjet from Gatwick to Nice (do it twice a year for 4/5 years) I have taken up to 4 in my bikebox and never been stopped.

Coming back from Nice, they (French security) always make me open my box after over-size x-ray and I have been told on more than one occasion that 2 is the limit and they have taken any more than 2 away.

But, if you want to be sure, give them a call.

The rules say no but I forgot to take a couple of mine out on a USA internal flight last summer and it never got picked up in the x-ray machine. Nor did they explode in the sky!

Got mine confiscated at Lanzarote Airport, they were in my hand baggage.

It was not the airline decision airport security removed them, chap in front of me was told to remove them from his bike box after he'd checked it in and it had been x-rayed.
