I've always said I'd never bother with 29ers but my new company are preparing to open up their bi-annual cycle to work scheme applications and it set me to thinking.
So what's a good clown bike for under a grand? Suspension not necessary but gears are (1x ideal)

This Inbred is worth a look.
I'd be tempted to see if they would swap the fork for one of their carbon rigid ones though.
Tak, good spot ta
Svalgis, ditto, looking around £150 would do it easily.
Dunno if it's the right size for you, but...

Oh, just saw the c2w aspect - forget it, sorry.
Voodoos at Halfords? Not amazing specs but the prices are good and stick a decent fork up front from merlin etc?
Orange Clockwork? Had mine delivered earlier this week and can't wait to go abuse it 🙂
Got it through my companies c2w as I figured it was a good way to try a 29er without the big outlay. Will be better for commuting duties as well compared to the SS.
Evans also do a really well specced pinnacle 29er for 1k. Nice machine. Ramin I think it's called.
Crikey that OnOne is cheap.
Are Avid Elixirs as **** as the Juicys?
I get the impression a new inbred build may be on the way. The x5 stock seems to be getting discounted and run down on stock. Hope a new one is listed - ill be getting a new c2w bike in April.
Why oh why did you have to draw my attention to that inbred, i'm a little clown-curious and that looks like a really nice bike for the money.
Edit - actually I see its 799 for anything in stock, the 599 is traditional internet bait and switch pricing for an out of stock item, still not a bad price
Cube ltd 29er?
