What, you've actually got it in your sticky paws for a penny? We demand triumph till receipt and bike pics.
Yes pics or it didnt happen!
bought in store for 1p that's joy of living 20 mins from Halfords HQ
Jammie b'stard!!!
(Said in a complimentary tone.)
sad I missed this.
Just had email saying it's been cancelled due to pricing error.

Me too, contesting it for giggles
No, just had cancellation of order email. I'm crushed...
tweeted at them:
@HalfordsCycling the guys at @singletrackmag forum are all dissapointed you won't sell them their frames #cinelli #thinkofthechildren
LOL - I got a namecheck
Yep, cancelled. Gutted.
Might be a clever guerrilla marketing ploy... 😉
I had no idea (until now) that halfrauds online carried such bicycle deliciousness.
Doesn't trading standards take a really dim view of guerrilla marketing?
I haven't received my email yet.
Anybody want to buy an un used cinelli mash frame?
2p
Profiteering? Me?!
"guerrilla marketing" no monkey data inputting:-)
got namechecked too (*highfive*) and no cancellation email. Does this mean I am one of the lucky ones? Got to keep the dream alive.
I've not had a cancellation either all those who got cancellations did you order more than one as I only ordered one.
Those that haven't recieved emails, delivery or colect in store?
I went back and stuck a 2nd in for collection in store, but only had one cancelation e-mail. But it doesn't say which was canceled.
*still crossing fingers for some good luck*
I only ordered 1 but got the email of disappointment...
Ordered one for delivery and one to store, no "bugger off" email yet...

Sorry my unicorn buried in the Atlantis portal I have in the garden
So the question is did anyone actually get too get there hands on one or has halfrauds done it again
Get over it lads (and ladies) maybe, just maybe the first bright spark who spotted their mistake managed to order one and have it shipped before they noticed and got a frame for a penny if, and only if, no human element in the process cast an eye on the order and exclaimed "hang on a minute...." and that's a very long shot.
As for the rest of us who jumped on the bandwagon today for a laugh, do you really think the Bosses of Halfords thought "oh dear, we've sold £75k worth of stuff for £1.50, ah well, the boys have loaded the vans now, and it's Friday, we'll laugh about this next year". No, not going to happen, even if the frame were already in the courier's van and it's parked at the end of your drive, some frantic phone calls would have it snatched back pronto.
These things happen, human error, system error whatever, they don't have to sell them to you for 1p, and Trading Standards aren't going to come charging over the hill to force them to either. It's lot like they advertised them for half-price and then said "sorry, we're out of stock, but you can have it in a different colour for 10% off RRP" no bait and switch here.
It was a laugh for a bit, but we're not going to be getting the frames, more than likely some poor dickhead in Halfords is going to spend the weekend sifting though all the orders and sending out sorry emails and arranging refunds.

Do you work for Halfords?
I think we have all got over it, if something is too good to be true then it usually is, you seem to be the only one getting your knickers in a bunch over it.
It was mostly a bit of fun anyway, but these "mistakes" that Halfords allegedly make seem to be quite frequent, especially on bike stuff, so I'm sure it's to lure people to their site on the offer of fantastic bargains. We all went their today and it made it to social media, a forum and the bike biz website......free advertising under the guise of "oopsy"

I just read that whilst wearing my free custom Oakley glasses with the transition lenses... 8)
They can't actually send any of them out, because then all those who didn't get one would be up in arms about it.

Shut it, spoilsport!!! 😉
I am the same with both my click and collect and delivery order. No cancellation... Yet.
Same here it's being "picked" still lol
Hi, I'm a long-time lurker but this is my first post... Just wanted to say thanks for sharing this. I saw the post when it was first made yesterday and ordered a 56cm using click and collect. Then ordered one for delivery. Got the C&C confirmation email and not had a retraction.
So I called in to my local store this morning as I was passing, guy said I was in luck as they'd just had a delivery. Had to hang around for almost an hour but out he comes with my box! He rang it up on the til then looked a bit confused when it came to 1p!! I did joke about my BC 10% discount but thought I'd better get out of there sharpish!
No idea how to put a photo on here but it's lovely! None of my road bike wheels fit though, do you need a special hub?
Yep 120mm track rear hub needed fella and without pics your story sounds very fishy lol
Lucky you! :). Someone else mentioned it's a time trial bike and so there are no brake or gear mounts so I dont know about the hub. For pics, go to tinypic and then share the link to the image on a post.
I can take a pic on my phone but it's not a smartphone so don't know how to get it into tinypic... My wife has a camera in her car so I'll try and do it later when she gets home
Move the image to your computer with a cable and follow the steps on there to upload it to tinypic
Did the shop assistant not at least ask you how you'd managed to buy a high end frame with a small copper coin?
Can a three speed Sturmey Archer hub be coerced into 120mm spacing... one wonders..?
If so, with a chain tensioner and front mech, I'll be able to go for some 2x3 gearing weirdness. Woo!
Still waiting, hopefully, on this.
You know you you can't put brakes on it? A single speed it is not.
Wow you lucky guy!!! I certainly didn't expect to get one, it was a laugh, but now I'm wondering whether to start making a noise that they have honoured some orders.... What do we think?
Dear Sir/Madam
Thank you for your recent order at Halfords.com.
It is with regret that we must advise we are unable to process your order due to an administrative pricing error. We are very sorry but on this occasion Halfords will be required to cancel your online order as per our terms and conditions. This item has now been removed from our website whilst we correct the pricing.
Please accept our apologies for any disappointment experienced on this occasion.
Kind regards
Halfords Customer Services
Just had the email of woooooo too lol might mail back to see if I can get a discount voucher lol as I'm so upset and close toooooooo tears now!
Just got the email too!

I'm amazed you picked this frame up. I got a call from Halfords yesterday to tell me the order was being cancelled, as I expected, the guy also said that every single order was being cancelled. So you've done very well getting one.
But you do know it's a full on track bike?
Pictures of frame or it didn't happen 😉 expect to see one on ebay starting price 99p any day soon?
I had the cancellation email, but the chaps at the store still called to say the frame hasn't arrived today and they hope to have it for me by Wednesday 🙄
Same as cookie
Got the email the other day cancelling my order, but just had a call from the store apologising that it's not in yet and can I call them back to arrange another collection day...
If this was your LBS would you still do the same?
Still no cancellation email for me. I am practically going blue from holding my breath so long now.
Dear Mr Halfords,
I will look after this frame with love and care if you send it to me. I am sure it can be built up into an exciting commuter bike with much spare parts-box weirdness, riser bars and Sturmey Archer goodness placed upon it gently..
Yours, no_eyed
riser bars and Sturmey Archer goodness
This is why we can't have nice things.
If this was your LBS would you still do the same?
My lbs doesn't do internet shopping, so no. And the same as what, buy something at the price advertised knowing full well it's not going to happen?
Why go through the process then
Why go through the process then
As I said before if you're not in it you're not going to win it. The 'process' you speak of takes about 15 seconds so hardly a big deal given I was on the halfords site anyway.
Why go through the process then
Because I want a track bike.
I hold out almost no hope of getting one by this method, but for 10 seconds effort?
Finally got this new steed built up, wadaya think?
Not bad for a 1p frame 😉

Not bad but surely the cost of shipping it back to Denver should be taken into account eh? 😉
Haha, Happy April 1st!...
However, at least I got a name check on Cycling Weekly website... 😀

.
I've just had an email from Halfords asking me to review my frame.
You know, the one they cancelled.
Yeah. That one.
🙄
I've just had an email from Halfords asking me to review my frame.
Likewise! Writing a 'review' now... 🙂
I've had a similar email!! What should we write?
I went too town lol best review I've ever done haha
