Nice! was going to say looks a wee bit like a Lapierre, and if I'm not mistaken there's one behind it in the pic and they do look alike. However I'm sure yours will be much rarer, so good choice.

Never mind the weight, it's only £985! Bargain, I'm fancying this more and more! Regardless of the weight...

EDIT - though that may be without shock. Still it's nice!

Actually quite surprised that a bike like this with that much care and attention to detail. And quite a few more AM specific bikes don't opt to put a Maxle bolted rear end on their frames. That orange covert on their website is tres hot though.

jesus, the transAM is nearly £500 frame only you can pick up a 853 cotic for that.

MMmmmmmmm like.
I wanted one a while back but they just weren't available. Had to email suppliers just to get a price. Happy that I went with the knolly in the end though.

So you're saying that you can pick up a transition for the same price as a cotic?

I like the sound of that.

Nice bike not come across a Transition before, I would like to ride a bike with the Hammerschmidt setup, bet that would be great on techy rocky off piste routes with the BB clearence.

comparing specs they are just not compatible, one is reynolds the other is cheapo 4130 and there is almost 2 pounds in weight difference. the transAM is very nice and i like the dropouts and geo but they need to match the tubeset. Still want though.

Are you comparing it to a soul? Then you would be right - they are not compatible. I'd rather have the one that the manufacturer allows you to get air on.

Surely you should be comparing it to a BFE? Which only has an 853 downtube and is less than a pound lighter.

And I could have sworn the prices were similar -the trans am was £345 in October last year:

If you go on cotic website there is a vid of some lad called rob hammering the simple which I believe is the same as the soul, so they are more than up to airtime.

If the transAM was £345 I'd purchase but at £469 its over budget, unfortunately it's unlikely to appear on the SH market like the similarly overpriced chameleon does.

The tattoo isnt mine, I took the pic, and the Trek is a Session 88, I believe with a Hart & Huntington Rockstar Vinyl graphic kit.

So, if the soul is capable of everything that the Trans Am is (or all other hardtails), why did Cotic bother with the BFE?
