I am 8)
Anyone else on a planned bimble?
really wish i could but family pressure makes it impossible. ๐
only bike ride i'll be on will be with the kids and there new bikes ๐ then its beer o clock
I normally try to in order to get rid of my hangover before I drive to my parent's house. Usually depends on how wasted I get the night before
If it's snowing then yes.
A friend went out one Christmas Day a few years ago and, when riding a cheeky descent, met the only other people he saw, some family out for a pre-dinner walk. Instead of being full of Christmas cheer, they moaned at him for riding on a FP and he just replied "I'm riding this for baby Jesus". It had the desired effect of rendering them speechless and he continued on his way.
๐
I'll definately be cycling on Christmas day 8)
Unfortunately It'll be cycling to work ๐
I'll probably be riding between 2 houses, it's either that or drink drive
Cycling or walking, depends on snow and the location i am.
๐
Am hoping too.
A couple of years ago I drove to my favourite area with my favourite bike. Trails were pretty much empty, just the way I like it. Had a picnic and had bought a little flask of coffee with me.
There's something very satisfying about feeling chilled whilst everyone else is getting themselves in a frazzle. ๐
I think it would be rude not too!
Do a bit of family stuff....the GF is away...bike ready to go......good times! ๐
Not have a rare Xmas off so gluttony and family time is on the cards.
It is just the missus and I so normally go for a ride and she goes off and tends to her horse. We meet up around 10am and have breakfast and presents.
Boxing Day for me. MsDwarf is working on Boxing Day & she'll be at work til 6pm on Xmas Eve so we're spending the time together.
Yep, deffo will be, just not sure where yet, CG what should I bring to the picnic? It's not that I am Barhumbug or anything, each to their own and all that, it just I like to not get caught up in it all.
Yes will go out. When the missus and daughter go to check the ponies.Usually get a 2hr ride in.
I'll be out, did Penmachno in the snow last year, was such hard going but got to make fresh tracks in the snow. The folks go off for a walk and I'll ride and meet up back at home for Christmas lunch.
I would like to, hoping that maybe after lunch I will get a few miles in but will be riding on Xmas eve and Boxing Day morning [as I have to get up for the p***ing Next sale]
Ridden on xmas day the last 4 or 5 years ๐ฎ
last 3 have been on the Beach on the Fatbike,
New Years Day too...here they do a swim in the sea!
i watch from the coast enjoying a Glenmorangie out the hip flask ๐
If I'm out proper on xmas eve I'll probably still be too mashed to drive so I'll be pootling over to my parents. If I have an easy one xmas eve, I'll be out for a ride somewhere xmas morning to work up an appetite and celebrate my birthday!
Did Marin Trail one xmas eve and did an OTB, smashed up my face n teeth and spent the eve in A&E getting stitched up. Spent xmas day/birthday a mess on the sofa!
I'll definitely be out, first xmas day in about 20 years i dont have to do any work anywhere ๐
Always. Or for a road ride. Or a run. Or a walk. Love the hush of it.
For sure... Need to escape the in-laws.. ๐
Never, the feast of the Lord Santa is sacred.
I wouldn't miss it for anything.
Now Boxing day on the other hand ๐
Yup.
Done it every year for the last 6 or 7 Christmases. Generally 2-3 hours from my parents' house in Spean Bridge. Anyone want to come along?
Last year looked like this:

Xmas Day. -10C. Cold on the downhills.
Me, plus riding on christmas eve, boxing day, & every day up to new years eve.
๐
I'll be riding somewhere - or walking if there is too much snow
Always - without fail. ๐
It's just fantastic being up early and out with hardly a soul around - even if it's just a road ride through town. Get back in time for Mrs gtth waking up and demanding presents and coffee, safe in the knowledge that I've had some quality time already in the day! I'm really looking forward to it.
Always do.
I think so, nothing major though, just enough to get a decent thirst up.
I wish you'd all bog off. I'm riding on Xmas day & Boxing Day (to work, in the car) to spend Crimbo with fractious prisoners who, like me, don't want to be there. then I'll come home to an empty house because Mrs Futtock will be at work on night shift with squawking kids on a ward in Leeds General Infirmary.
Merry Fu**ing Crimbo, I hope your turkey doesn't defrost & your oven conks out! ๐
Ride or run or both every Xmas day - the dogs make me! I love the little bit of escape, never out for long but do get out, 2 out of the last 5 have been in the snow even here in sunny Devon!

Are you Barraclough or McKie?
We will be heading out for a family xmas day cycle i think, hopefully there will be lots of snow and we can all be in preparation for the puffer. Burn off some calories before we put them all bk in wen we have dinner ๐
Christmas morning without fail. May attempt the Rapha challenge.
I will be doing a 2hr ride to the outlaws as this will help with the 4000 calories I'm about to consume not including drink and the odd packet of fully salted nuts to help with cramps.
Definitely down the firs for an hour or two with the gf then to our favourite hostelry for some lunchtime serious ale.
Malvern Hills with friends.
The word on the street is that St Ann's Well cafe will be open, so there will be a cake stop.
on my old stomping ground back at parents for a couple hours before they get up - likely alone as most of my old riding buddys have kids now !
Wouldn't miss the fun of a family chrimbo at home with the wife and kids, there's more to life than riding a bike, will ride at other times during the festive season
It's just another day for the athiests so yea why not
I always ride early Christmas morning. The roads are EMPTY so no hassle.
Plus Boxing day. It gives me a good appetite for Christmas Dinner ๐
Would quite like to I'm sure it would be better than working ๐

Are you Barraclough or McKie?[/i]
Probably more Mr Barraclough I would say. I do work with a few Mr McKie's though, & worse!
