Probably 10ish miles home from wherever Mrs Balanced drops me and the boy in the New Forest. Xmas dinner should be ready not too long after we get back.

Little trb will be trading up from a balance bike to his first pedal bike, so hopefully we'll be riding, not a long one for me but an epic for him!

Have fun and good luck, trb, but don't get over-ambitious or too upset if he doesn't take to it straight away. Has he ridden anything with pedals on?

Mini-aracer (the one in the middle of the tandem) was whizzing around on a balance bike and thrilled to get a bike with pedals last year (he had already been riding a trike as well), but got upset when he struggled to balance on it. Ended up buying stabilisers for it when I'd reckoned he wouldn't need them, as otherwise he refused to ride it.

We had Christmas day on Boxing day a couple of years ago to try and get all the family together, went surfing with the wife which was fantastic on the real christmas day. On the way home we saw a house that was for sale so we knocked on the door only to find we had interupted the family christmas dinner. Had completely forgoten it was Christmas day.
