I have just recently fitted a chris king headset to a bike that I was running a older set of pace forks on. however the race for the headset does not fit the pace sterrer due to it being the same diameter all the way down

any suggestions??

My old pace forks came with a slip-ring tapper shim that slid down to the bottom of the steerer and then fitted into the bottom of the crown race

So if you've chucked the old crown race, the shim was probably inside it.If you've still got it but can't get it out without damaging it, let me know as i'm sure I have one in the shop.

As UK-FLATLANDER said. Tim Price, sells them, he services Pace Forks. For a short term bodge, a shim cut from a coke can usually works. Mail me at the address in my profile for Tims details. He can also be found over on Retrobike (justbackdated)
