As a slight distraction from covid-19 I'm looking at getting a bike seat for my little girl. Can anyone recommend a good seat for her front of the bike would be better.
What age is she? Below 2 - WeeRide is the default. Over 2 - Macride of Shotgun
Macride purchase on thursday last week, delivered yesterday. Very happy, daughter is 2.5 and loves it! Get one.
And decathlon for helmet, the £10 One is really good, there is a cheaper option as well 👍
To thread hijack, I have a 4 week old boy, looking to get him on the bike ASAP, what ages did others put their young ones on the wee ride?
Wee ride says recommended 1 year, but could be 6-9 months if neck muscles are strong enough.
At 4 weeks you're a way off yet. An upright seated position is not good for very young babies. They're only supposed to be in infant car seats for 2 hours and the baby is reclined in those. The seated position puts strain on their respiratory system. Babies have died from hypoxia in car seats.
Edit: A trailer might be an option for sooner?
I bought a secondhand rear mounted Hamax seat for peanuts and have a Mac Ride for when my son's ready. He's nearly 2
For helmets, the Giro Scamp is a great.
SHOTGUN!
My boy loved it til he started pedaling and I sold it.
Mac-Ride, excellent bit of kit and so quick to remove/swap between bikes.
