Wooly hat - which you can find on eBay. I got mine for £32.

As an example of how ridiculous parts prices now are,I worked out the cost of replacing a complete XT drivetrain:
Outer ring for an XT M770 is now £97.Middle is £36.20,inner is £14.67,cassette is £78.29 and chain is £36.20.(All rrp)Thats £260!!!
As much as we love our bikes,culd you really justify the cost?

Woolyhathsop must have put up their prices during the day today! I got mine at £29.95 this morning, just noticed they are now £39.99

arrrggghhhhhh,
been umming and arrring about getting an xt cassette and xt chain from merlin for the last week
i think i talked myself into it and was gonna do it tomorrow,
not anymore 😥

I can see more people going to SLX or Deore if the prices keep rocketing. Yeah, they are a bit heavier, but at those prices....

rubbish. i sold a set of XT chainrings a couple of months ago for £35! wanted the chainset for my ss. Should have held on to them for spares!

SRAM PG980 is almost the same weight as XT, and can be found a little more cheaply at the moment.

new XT is actually 256 grams as opposed to 280gram and 276 grams for the 990 and 980 respectively 11-32

How does SLX compare to XT weight wise.Its stillan alloy carrier so can`t be much more?
