I'm currently loving my new Goretex Shakedry, but I think that's 90% because of the fit!

Long arms and a dropped tail that properly covers my arse, even in the drops. Makes my old Endura eVent jacket seem comically poor fit in comparison.

Problem is that Shakedry is waaaaay to delicate to take bikepacking for a week, so I'm looking for a cheap alternative, will just take a hit on breathability.

Any budget brands known for a good fit? I imagine DHB might be good and would be upper limit of what I wanted to pay anyway.

A hood would be a ckeeky bonus!

Just a pity you missed out on the Aussie grit stuff, the 35 quid jacket is fantastic, worth looking on ebay or emailing them to see if they have any returns etc.

It's not until you get a well fitting jacket that you realise just what a difference it makes!.

I know! Was comparing notes with a riding buddy, him with his £35 quid Flint and me with my £235 Shakedry... to be honest the difference is probably a negligible amount less sweat in the Shakedry, althought it was still worth it for the revelation of a good fit.

That eBay link was tempting but actually the guy did himself out of a sale by being too detailed, the Flint is quite a bit shorter at the back than the Gore C7, and also baggier. Not sure about sleeve length right enough but he did say 'MTB fit' which makes me think shorter...

Aye, dunno if I'd risk it without trying on, just a thought.
