Yup - works now. You're getting better results than I've managed so far - all my vids are unwatchable due to mahoosive shakiness 🙁 I wonder if it's due to my using industrial velcro which might be allowing some movement? I'll try taping the thing on next ride....

ingenious mount you have fashioned there, would have been better stuck to the headtube maybe, not bad for 12 quid though.

too many cables for headtube attachment, they would have been in the shot all the time, mount it lower down maybe on the fork crown and (i love to say!) dust would have been a problem

i was suprised it wasn't shakier especially with the rigid forks, i did do a much more technical trail but the folliage managed to turn the cam off buy hitting the power button!

TBH I'm totally sick of 5 minute vids of my left hand / the sky / the scenery passing by at 90 degrees, so I just bought a set of these bad boys;

camera sunglasses

Even if the vids are still cr@p, at least the camera will be pointing in the direction I want!

I bought one as well (and the higher priced uk spec muvi one).

The uk £65 muvi one broke the first ride, which I wasn't impressed with at all.

The cheapo £12 one from HK is going reasonabley well, it's taken me a few runs to get it to be at the right angle. It's also taken a proper whack when mounted on my helmet and I didn't quite duck a branch. Still working.

is it the same as this one:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Mini-DV-pocket-Sports-Video-Camera-Cam-SpyCam-DVR-spy-3-/180497603251?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_AudioTVElectronics_Video_Camcorders&hash=item2a067edab3#ht_4956wt_773

?

thanks, the video looks really good for the price.

also, the link you refer to for the card is dead, was there a specific brand or anything to look for or is it just a case of looking for the highest class you can find?

oh and can you turn off the date being recorded?

yea that's exactly the same one,... 99p!! i was robbed 🙂

micro sd 8g class 6 here http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/8GB-CLASS-6-MICRO-SD-SDHC-MEMORY-CARD-NOKIA-E90-N95-/220394088839?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_AudioTVElectronics_PDAsAccessories_MemoryCards&hash=item335082e987 £12.99 free postage (this is who i bought mine from)

you can crop the date off by changing the screen size, but you need to download some free software, have a look on youtube there are lots of tutorials

FYI they work much much better without the 'smearing' if you get good light. Obviously tricky in the UK, but we took a couple boarding and they were very good indeed.

The data transfer rate for class 2 is more than adequate for these little cameras. The biggest problem is whether they really are class 2/4/6 or just lower performance fakes. Almost impossible to tell, but some of the prices which are being mentioned on here I would be suspicious!
