Hi, having laser eye surgery in a couple of weeks. They say I can ride my bike a week after, just protect the eyes. I normally wear nothing as such, contacts or sometimes my normal glasses.
Was thinking of goggles for a few weeks but looking like the cheap good ones are about £25 - Thor Enemy or 100% Strata. But very probable that after a month or so might never wear again so looked on the Bay and found cheap mx ones even down to less than a tenner. Which seems great for a throwaway thing but will they be so shit as to not be worth it? Falling off/apart whatever. Any experiences? Booked for BPW two weeks after surgery so will need for a longer day than normal for me I guess, on for some hours.

Bolle Blast vented from Buck&hickman come in at around £11 inc vat, very good quality, and very comfy too. Can be ordered online, and either delivered to home, or your local depot for next day collection.

Just buy the 100%'s, never know might like 'em, if not sell them on after you're done.

Buy decathlon clear safety style glasses at 5er here. Wear them all the time on the bike. They even do yellow and dark versions.

Hang on sec...
(and I know I'll be making myself popular here) you're willing to pay (presumably) hundreds of pounds for someone to fire lasers at your eyes OP, but begrudge an extra £25 on goggles to protect said peepers?

The only problem I have with some goggles/lids is them being pushed down onto my nose and pinching my nose. I tend to try them on these days.

Just get some 2nd hand Oakleys off eBay or Pinkbike and sell them on again when you've finished - all you'll lose is some postage costs.

the majority of amateur 4x and DH racers I see wear 100% goggle, so I'm guessing they are pretty good? I've got some Thor's and they are fine and 2 years old, though with some signs of abuse, obviously.

Stanley safety glasses. Wrap around for your eyes and vented so don't mist up. Elastic strap round the back. £2 from cooperation if they still have them. Only wear them when I'm downhilling.

I'd just pick the cheapest MTB ones you can find for circa £25. There's a bit of the risk of MX or snow sport ones not fitting well with an mtb helmet.

If you're going for one uplift day you might go for others in the future and use them.

My top tip would be to go with clear lenses.
