just picked up my new Defy Advanced Pro 2 ๐ which has these, in 25c guise fitted. Any experiences of them ? I do have a new pair of GP4000S11's ready to go on from the outset if the Giant ones are poor ?
I asked this exact question a week ago! See here.
^^^ jeez, I have a bad memory ๐ณ
Should I have ignored your advice from that thread then? ๐ฏ
qtip ๐ the ones I swopped out were on my 2012 Defy, so in my slight defense of being a numpty, the 2016 ones are maybe better than the ones of 4 yrs ago, which were definitely not a patch on the GP4000's !
(oh and the ones on my 2012 were 23c ๐ )
I ended up buying a pair of GP4000 IIs based on the general consensus. Not tried them out yet though.
I took them of my Defy for winter but I'll be putting them back on when the weather gets better. They seem perfectly good tyres in dryer conditions and not too heavy for oem kit. I can't see any reason not to use them till they are worn out.
Tyres make such a big difference to his a bold feels and behaves that I've long since accepted that I will have to budget for new tyres on every bike a buy. My view on the road is to stop messing around and get either some Vittoria Pave's or some Veloflex Masters, they are just plain better.
solid advice
some nice open tubulars from Vittoria, Veloflex or Challenge paired with latex tubes gives a simply sublime ride quality with many puncture free km's
vulcanised tires with butyl tubes feel wooden in comparison
