Is there any where to park near the crossing to enable a crafty whizz round the MT

Yes, just look at a map and you'll see it.

Layby by the pumping station at start of monkey once youve crossed the road, dont leave anything on show.

You ride through a parking area the other side of the crossing?

Pay the parking fee you tight basket. That money helps fund the trails.

Or park at Beaudesert car park. Leave car park and cross road. By gate enter doubletrack trail on right and progress for 200m. Find climb on left and make way up to top. Turn left and find usual entry to Upper Cliff descent on your right.

Details from FC Website below:

Beaudesert Car Park is in Cannock Forest.
Located close to Hazleslade village and Wandon cross roads the car park is located on the Rugeley Road.
Hednesford is the nearest town or village.

Park on Marquis Drive and ride straight down the road down the hill until you get to the level crossing and pick the trail up there.

I normally park on the main car park then ride down the first section of the dog onto the monkey which is only a few minutes.

Then when you come back across the railway and up the big hill just stay on the hill all the way up to marquis and can either shoot down the road to the car park or down the trails back to the car park from the camp site.
