Has anybody ever been, thought it might be worth a little weekend tour as a can get ferry there from practically my front door?

Hello. I live in Guernsey. Come and visit our island but you might (regrettably) be better off going to Jersey as s there are more trails. They have a great cycling festival coming up with a great looking urban downhill through a castle...get involved. Google Jersey festival of cycling...

On the other hand Guernsey has the distinct advantage of not being quite the annex of the Masonic lodge that Jersey is and it's lovely for road riding.
