I've had some '06 Fox Van 32s (set on 100mm travel) serviced for the better half recently, but we've also found her a longer travel frame which means I need to change the forks to match. I've also sourced a soft spring for her which I'll need to drop in.
"No worries" I thought. "Piece of cake - just open up the spring, change them over and take the spacers from the bottom and pop them on the top."
Oh no. After looking over the very informative guide here I'm a little concerned about two things:

Will I need to remove the lowers? (seems a little overkill for a travel change)[/*]

Assuming that I do, I'm also assuming that I'll then need to replace all the oil in the lowers and sealing crush washers?[/*]
All advice appreciated. Ta!
You'll need to undo the damper assembly rod (nut on bottom of leg) to get at the spacer, but no need to remove the lowers. You will have to replace the oil though. I've done this many times without bothering to replace the crush washers and have not had any problems.
Brilliant. Thanks qtip.
Final question - it looks like (on the above link) that there's an extra spacer for the 130mm setting - is this normally taken out? Or does it move to the bottom of the spring stack/damper?
