Hi

Recently bought a Trek x-caliber 29 er

It has 3x10 as standard

Crank SRAM S1000, 44/33/22

I have replaced the x7 shifters and rear mech for SRAM X0

I also put a 9 speed rear cassette and chain.

It seems to skip in a few gears.

Do I need to chage the crank too

Was thinking I need a 9 speed crank too ?

Could I replace the above with a FSA BB30 ? I have bought a used one but not sure it will fit so may need a different model ?

Appreciate advice .....

For whatever reason you've gone to 9spd from 10spd, as long as you've changed the shifters, the cassette, the rear mech and the chain, all you need to do is set it all up correctly.

A 9spd setup should function perfectly well on a 10spd crank and front mech. If the gears are skipping, then they just need indexing correctly.

Thanks
I changed to nine as I wanted the SRAM X0.
I happens to get 9 speed and only realised when I took the stock stuff off that it was 10
Set up is all good just skips in a couple of gears rest are A1

Rear mech has the cnc wheels so that me be a factor . May go back to standard as they are fatter and hold the chain better....
