New chain, chainrings and cassette. Almost new rear mech with the chain the right length. Get really bad chain suck as soon as it gets little muddy when climbing in the small ring only. I noticed the teeth on the ring are a lot longer than the ones I took off or the lx ones on my wifes bike (not a lot of use). Could this be causing it not to release the chain? It is a decent sram chain but it does have two split links quiet close together (I made it too short, stupid thing to do). Could that do it?
It seemed to happen from the middle of the cassette all the way up to the biggest cog, so I cannot see spacing or changing the chainline helping. Or am I missing something?
I found steel granny rings gave problems!!!!!
Is it a 10 speed replacement chain ring on a 10 speed system....or what? IE. Are you sure the replacement is right for your system?
What frame is it on? Small 456s had a reputation for unexplained chainsuck!!!..........as did other frames.
Its 9 speed triple rings with 9 speed chain so it all matchs. Its on an old style chameleon. I thought all shamanio inner rings are steel?
