My brand spanking less than 200 mile old Tricross' chain is skipping under pressure...

So far I have checked:
- Cable Tension - its fine.
- Bent Deraillers - both fine.
- Missaligned / miss setup deraillers - both set up fine.
- Stiff Link - nope.
- Chain line - fine.

What else could it be?

check the cassette to see how worn it is, if you changed the chain and not the cassette then the cassettte may need changing to.

Is the cable lined up perfectly in the groove beneath the clamp bolt on the rear mech? Took me ages to notice this one time!

In case anyone was wondering I think the rear mech has died - there is a lot of slop between the cage and the body.

I will pop back into the shop and see what they say...

Thanks for the suggestions!

David.

Seems odd when it's so new.

Broken chain would be the other thing worth checking, sometimes if a sideplate's bulging out you may not notice, but I'd expect you to find it when you checked for a stiff link.
