Any idea why a chain device would make the chain not run smoothly over a rear Mechs bottom jockey wheel? Ss device on a mark 1 nomads. Had to put a 1 mm spacer for the chainset tabs to clear the backplate
assuming same length chain, the lower chainguide tension roller pulls the chain up causing the mech cage angle of dangle to tighten and chain no longer wraps around the jockey wheel as much.
or the chain now simply fouls the mechs cage plate (but you'd probably have looked and noticed that before posting, eh? ๐ )
It's not catching on anything I can see just seems to skip on the jockey wheel. Same chain so not that plus ok with lower tensioner removed so must be the angle. How can I fix it?
what's to fix?
lower jockey wheels don't even need teeth, they're just there to hold tension.
if you are really bothered, add more chain links to allow the mech to sit where it used to and whinge about excess chain slap in the higher gears instead.
Well it makes lots of noise as it slips on and of the wheel might try spacing it out to see if that helps. I can cope with the racket for morzine but would drive me made on a climb
