Intense's Hard Eddie looks good

BUT not for £1649 - PLUS £429 for forks

I'm not sure I'd call that a trail bike. It's more of a "rip your legs off, go till you vomit" xc race bike.

Bloody lovely though!

I ran my C456 with rigid forks (29er forks, as the geometry's designed for a long fork). Worked very well. So many rigids are outright xc bikes and that does make sense but for technical riding rigid has enough drawbacks without bolting it to a 71 degree head tube I reckon.

Ah, MW's nut-shelled it :thumb:

Is there such a CF machine then for technical trails riding, without going to the Chinese sellers? Or is this OK now?

I wouldn't call any rigid bike a 'trail' bike.

Carbon, 'trail' handling rather than head-down, and rigid. That's a real microniche there : )
No carbon hardtails that would do the job with a rigid fork? Doesn't need to be really slack anyway.

you could use a 'normal' carbon frame with good TT length and fit a slackset?

Yeah you're right, trail's so outmoded, it's a #rigiduro bike.

Pivot Les with Kinesis 100mm suspension corrected fork. Head angle around 69 degrees iirc, short stays ya de ya de ya. I would like a Les, they look versatile and fun AND can be run SS.

Most trail centres aren't really that bumpy - rigid is fine - maybe if your racing it could hold you back but seeing as the majority of folk at trail centres ride at snails pace I'm surprised rigid isn't more popular ..

You've not ridden Cannock on a rigid have you? Not particularly rocky etc but there's some spectacular breaking bumps!

I will chime i with my current el cheapo shonkadelic work in progress;
Lurcher (scored a frame for £225 with a discount code)
Carbon fatty fork.
35mm lightbike carbon rims.
Wide tyre at the back & Knard or chronicle up front.

will post a pic when it's finished.

... Cannock on a rigid ?
Yep in the mud with V brakes - hence why the bumps were the least of my issues !

9Zero7 Whiteout is a beauty and something I would own in a flash... was it not for the price

Plus that's a fat bike and perhaps in my ideal mind there was a half fat...

However, I do find myself using my current fat bike for most of my current riding

Carbon fatbike frame & forks and stick some (light as possible & tubeless) 29+ wheels in it.

I know i'm going to get shot down for this, but 29+ works better for trail riding than full fat IMO.
29+ & fatbike frankenbike thing of evil but lovely.

Flame away bitches. 😀

Runs & hides. 😳
