I love how it starts over grass, little hillocks to lean back on the suspension and easily lift the bars up and pop over....then it becomes singletrack and then it gets teasingly rougher and rougher.
Every walker that you meet smiles and says hello. Always a Brucey-bonus.
Fantastic.
Easy to say hello when you are walking down eh hora?
Hey I was one of those waiting for over 20mins at the bottom on one of the Pootles for the rest ๐
That i've never come closer than 5 dabs on a huge bike to clearing it from the gate to where it levels out- always fun to have a challenge for another day.
That it changes- rain= mini rivers
lots of rain= torrent
Late summer= nettles on my normal lines
And most of all just letting the bike flow and gain more and more speed on the rest of it:)
No pics or vids but I
Hate -
1) It spits you out in Castleton in the bottom of the valley, so unless it's the end of the ride its a climb to anywhere.
2) Meeting walkers (in a nice way).
Love -
1) The top grassy bit
2) The narrower singletrack stuff
3) The really rocky challenging stuff
4) Catching the look on the walkers faces as you work your way down on the rocky/technical stuff, most look shocked to see you riding it
5) The fact its the one place every walker has been pleasant and moved to the side.
6) Going dead early and not having to worry about the walkers
7) The satisfaction of cleaning it all the way down from gate to gate
8.) The way it draws you in at speed only to change terrain in a second.
9) Never getting bored of riding it.
I can confirm Hora was at the bottom for a while on one of the pootles we were getting cold ๐
Cavedale is a top descent I have cleaned it in the snow, in the rain and went over the bars on a bone dry day.
You never take the same line each time.
Lots of walkers though ๐ฟ
RR- I've just realised...did I see you today!! (In the hardtail group)
