Is this ok for pro 2, or will it chew it up?

get the cassette off merlins and get the chain too! ha, its always my plan. the pg-980 also has an alu carrier which is better than the steel ones.
So yes, that one you've mentioned will hopefully chew up the freewheel less than others.

DONT DO IT!!

I have that Cassette

1,2,3 are Ok on the big alu Spider, 4,5,6,7 are individual but held together by a pin to form a sort of block, they move on there own and dig into the freehub body, 8,9 are fine.

i wish i had spend the extra and gone for the PG990 - Red Spider

I have a PG990 on my Pro2 hubs and it's brilliant - smooth shifting and a little bit (got the red spider) bling too!
