She loves riding to school across the park with her dad but bringing the bike home is tricky. Saddle nose over shoulder is pretty uncomfortable so lately I've just been holding her bike by the crossbar in my left hand with it pointing backwards. Not too bad but a bit crampy after a while.
Any top tips for making this easier? Don't really want to spend any money - just looking for carrying technique, ta ๐
Climbing sling or old piece of rope. I've not tried it with a pedal bike yet as they leave them at school when they ride them, but with the balance bike I used to tie a long climbing sling round the stem and hook the other end over the seat, then wear it like a satchel.
Pedals might require a bit more positioning but should work OK.
Ride it
I used to ride my daughter's home, like a monkey bike.
Just don't be seen doing it.
Really +1 for a sling thing, i used a webbing strap from a car roofrack. Under the saddle under the stem and over the shoulder.
But then I'd struggle to carry the 26er!
Edit: I didn't say I was riding as well, sorry.
Satchel style sounds good. Thanks Tony & Jon.
Can the school store it for you? Not the same but our lads nursery have a storage cupboard for parents who leave car child seats (if different parents collect/drop off but only one car seat). May be worth asking?
Could leave it there but that would mean mother being involved at home time, can't see that working!
invest in a TrailGator or similar, s/h ??
Why can't she ride home as well?
Leave it there but a sling is what you need.
Either a sling or can you attach it to a rucksack (like when people climb big mountains while carrying a bike)?

Worth getting anyway, but I found they don't tow so well without a pilot. More sort of drag ๐
Bit of old climbing rope with a loop each end here. The 'leggy bike' used to fit in the courier bag, was much easier. I don't have far to collect though, it's only really if they leave the bike at school and I have to retrieve in the evening.
Kiddyback tandem, obviously.
Zip tie the front wheel to your non-drive side seat stays?
Yes, I did ride it.
No, they werent all my kids bikes.
(The Wife volunteered my services to service the School Nursery bike fleet). ๐

I plan to build a bike-tow adaptor for my rear rack (mainly for carrying wheels but possibly towing a bike). Sort of like a hoop to drop the front wheel in and a bar to grab the top of it. Might work for kids bikes too? Sort of like this...

Thanks for all replies.
Kcal - got one, not a fan, should sell it.
Tired - I want her to ride her own bike!
Depending on my shifts we ride to school and her mum picks her up in the car as she's passing at home time.
Dug out a length of rope from the garage and I'll try that tomorrow.
Went well, bit tricky over the narrow bridge but a lot easier than the last few efforts.
