[Closed] Carbon Seatpost in Titanium Frame

Just wondered if anyone might have advice on using (or not) some form of grease when fitting a carbon seatpost in a titanium frame.

I have an On-One 456 Ti frame with an Easton EC70 CNT seatpost. All is good but I occasionally need to remove the seatpost and it's always a nightmare. I don't use any interface between the 2 materials, but should I?

If you leave it in too long, it ain't coming out.

Based upon my 456Ti and SDG post...

I'd go with some of this stuff: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=30012

tiny little smear where the clamp acts and you don't need to clamp it so tight either then. But it might cause scratches on your carbon post if you move it around a lot.

Any grease will react with the resin of the post over time, causing it to stick.
No grease and it should be OK, but will wear rapidly if you move it up and down several times on a wet/muddy ride.

Sell it and get a Ti seatpost; you know it makes sense.

I've been running carbon posts in Ti frames for around 5 years. A light application of Carbon Assembly Paste is all that is required. I have a tube of the Pace stuff I got from EighteenBikes all that time ago and it's still almost full. I use it on handlebars too - both at the stem and at the controls.
