well.... carbon has a modulus of about 6.73 whereas plastic has one of around 7.02. My mate Colin runs plastic caps on the behind wheel and carbon on the fronty. You should see the grin on his face when he beats me up the hill by 0.0000372 seconds.

because you don't need [i]any[/i] dustcaps on a presta, let alone carbon ones.

The cap is to stop the valve puncturing the tube when it's in the box - why would you want bling bits that you can't see?
