[#408230]

I need two carbon bottle cages for my major jake.

Anybody recommend me a type that isn't prone to snapping the tab off the bottom

Thanks

Ken

Bonty X-Lite. Have been running one for ~3 years without problems. Don't go for the XXX-Lite which is road only, and a bit too flimsy (and doesn't save much weight).

I use planet x ones on my commuter, the tab at the bottom snapped but that was after about 7000 miles - so no complaints there. I use pbk ones on my road bike and they seem to be holding up well - nice and tight too.

Guilty of not answering the question shocker....

Considered a Tacx Tao? 39g and £10 though not carbon 🙁

boblo.....you appear to have missed the point.

I want carbon coz it looks trick (funtionality does matter tho') and I don't care about the weight

In support of Boblo:

Tacx Tao Carbon? Looks uber bling, and it's not relying on the carbon to keep the bottle in. Mine's about 4 years old. Not cheap mind.

Surely people don't buy stuff just cos of the way it looks? Form over function? Whatever next? 😐

Me no like.

I've seen the chaos and the busted collar bone that ensued from a bottle jumping out of a carbon cage. Metal cages are less trick, less light, but you can crush them in a bit to make them nice and tight.

Never dropped a bottle out of a Tao, carbon or alu.
