[Closed] Carb drinks with a splash of protein - still a thing?

I remember years ago that talk of adding protein to a carb drink increases time to failure for cycling endurance, and I see that Sky are using the SIS Whey 20 during races.

Is this still a proven science, and perhaps for training sessions would using something like Rego vs Go be an advantage?
