The pads on my cross bike brakes have finally worn out. The brakes are the shimano cantis (BR550?). Does anyone know what I have to replace them with? It looks like I have to buy the whole assembly rather than just fitting new pads but I may not have looked closely enough.

Thanks

Don't they just take V brake type pads. My Froglegs and Tektros do.

google clarks cycle systems, check the aftermarket section for road brake pads, they seem to do something for just about everything, and just about every bike shop deals with them.

you could just put v brake cartridges in there or maybe some cool stops?

it depends if they are ones that take v-brake pads and hence loose halve of the tweak-ability of a pair of cantilevers of if they take proper post mount brake blocks. If either way go with koolstop salmons

They should have replaceable v-brake cartridge brake blocks.
Pretty much all of them fit, you should be able to get a pair for about £5 in most bike shops.
