Hi all,
I have a mid 90's Cannondale F700 with a Fatty D Headshok. It needs a service, I know they're fiddly but does anyone have an exploded assembly drawing of the fork setup? The top bolt is seized in, so I've drilled it out, taken the lockout (black plastic cap) off, and there is hex hut with just a plain inner (no thread) so I'm a bit confused as to how turning the top cap to change from lockout to suspension mode actually works, unless the hex nut is a tight press fit on the shaft inside it?
As when the black cap is twiested, which twists the hex nut beneath, there is nothing gripping the shaft the the hex nut sits over? I was expecting it to be threaded...!

I worked in a Cannondale dealership for a few years, although i never serviced the forks i recall that you had to have a few specialist tools - amoungst others is a 'crown tool' or something like that, it looked like a castle on a chess piece - however there is a great guy in Exeter that services them cheap.
Keep an eye on the classifieds today, my pal just had a frame fail and is going to advertize a perfectly functional lefty fork and wheel today if you fancied an upgrade..

There's nothing stopping you from ordering the correct tools from a Cannondale dealer, or at least there isn't in Canada.
