I'm actually quite saddened by this. How could an organisation just 'discover' that they have a £7m hole in their budget?!?

Wouldn't the main sponsors and/or team directors have known about possible financial issues a long time ago?

I think the story is that one of the sponsors has pulled out. They haven't said which one but my guess is that whichever sponsor it is has just had a change in personnel in their marketing team and want to put their money into something else.

Really hope they find the money - they do some exciting racing and have some great characters on the team.

Seems a shame, they have a lot of characterful riders, and finally a few good results

They've been struggling for a while but were very bullish they had signed a great new deal with someone at this years tour. To be announced shortly. I guess they haven't in fact signed a great new deal so they have no money next year. It's the nature of pro tour teams. It's a bit of a rubbish model. I feel conflicted. I like a lot of their riders but not Jonathan vaughters.
