They make more headsets than anyone else, ranging from super cheap to super expensive, so kind of depends on which one you're thinking of.

My S3 has been faultless over the last 18 months

I got a new cheap S3 from ebay off a dealer (too long ago to rember who), absolute garbage. I don't think it was genuine Cane Creek to be that bad. The top bearing was binding in the cup, and the bottom one rusted after first outing.

It will cost you twice that to have it fitted! So either that's a bargain or it's an expensive mechanic bill when it gives up the ghost, which it innevitably will at some point in the near future.
Spend a little more and get one that's fit and forget. You don't have to step up to Chris Bling levels; Cane Creek do one guaranteed for something silly like 100 years for about £80 I think.

The S-3 is great, but i splashed out on a XX headset and it seized solid after three rides... I've never had a headset do that before... Learned my lesson and got a king

Had a S-3 plus S-8. I think the 'S' stands for shi*e. Spend your money wisely on a Hope headset, they last much longer. 😯

@op - yes they are very good. Unfortunatley there are counterfeits galore. Just like duracell batteries and sennheiser headphones. Fit them properly and they're fine. Good value too on crc! I've an s8 and it's been fit and forget for 3000 miles. 🙂
