Pffft he should be doing that with very tight SPDs.

Ponce; he wants to try trackstanding on the Old St roundabout in rush-hour...

but why, to what end?

Cos he can?

Whenever I see people doing stuff like this, I can't help thinking; 'you're a bit of a knob, and if it went wrong, you'd just be a dead knob...'

trackstand is very useful and rather easy, even with SPD's I find it no harder than on flats.

He's not trackstanding, he's using his left foot on the front wheel - it's nowhere near his pedal...

Smee - I suppose it was just a vital skill I learned from bike trials days, but a good balance on a bike is useful (actually especially with SPD's) because you dont have to jump off the bike and unclip every time somebody stops in front of you on a trail, or in front of traffic lights.

try turning the front wheel about 45 degree angle and only using front brake to stand

this sort of thing.

Whilst it is impressive, it is surely one of the most pointless excercises I have seen anyone do on a bike
