yes, decent shop should have a thread chasing tool, easy diy job, but not a diy tool (quite expensive)

Agree with mos, plus if the shop screws it up its their fault!

If that fails you might be able to get a steel sleeve fitted, oooooor if youre using square taper cranks you can buy a BB that threads onto itself instead of the frame ๐Ÿ˜€ charlie the bike monger sells em.

Not always, depends how borked it is. If it's steel they can cut & weld it though.

I messed up the thread on mine when changing the bb. Thought it was a write off but took it to my lbs. Within an hour they had it re threaded and my bb fitted.
