I've got a Sram X7 front mech that's 34.9 band, can I get a shim to bring it down to 26.8?
In short No.
Do you mean 28.6mm? I was told that the Shimano shim would fit. But when I tried it I found it wouldn't fit properly on my Soul. I just bought an SLX mech. Shimano front mechs will work perfectly well with a SRAM shifter. It's the same pull ratio.
Alternatively a carefully chopped up coke can does the job if you want to bodge a shim.
If you mean 28.6, Yes you can, proper SRAM ones with all the cut-outs and tabs to fit the band. I had one in my Inbred. I'm pretty sure I've still got it in the garage somewhere, if I can find it you're welcome to it for the price of a royal mail small parcel.
