For winter, bit awkward putting knee pads over/under Roubaix longs. Just wondered if there are any out there with built-in protection padding?

Do you really need to wear long bibs for technical riding? I just wear a liner and my knee pads, there's a tiny bit skin exposure, but it doesn't ever bother me.
Putting kneepads over tights would be the way to go, otherwise if you put them under (I'm not sure you could even get them to fit) you'll rip up your bibs on any crash.
They will still slip down, as the grippers don't work well on Lycra.
