As title really, just got some gripshift and currently use ruffians. Can I cut them shorter or do I need new grips?

Pretty sure they do a special short version for just such an eventuality.

if they aren't lock ons...why not?

If the diameter doesnt match though it can get umcomfortable as your hand rubs on the ridge

i used to use Sachs Wavey shifters with cut down Onza Ules back in the day ๐Ÿ™‚

yeh, they do a shorter one but you can cut them - I have

quite hard to get a really good straight finish to the rubber though; you might want to use the little thin spacers that sometimes come with gripshifters

(mine are lock-ons BTW - now just on the outer collar)

I tried the shorter lockons when I had a Rohloff.
I could feel the lockon ring between the grip and the shifter so i just used a cut down normal length lockon with the remaining clamp on the outside.
Worked fine.
