[Closed] Can I fit 29er tyres on '700c' wheels?

Sorry if this seems a stupid question but my brain is not 100% today.

I'm running 700c FSA wheels on my Singular Peregrine with Schwalbe Racing Ralph 700c cx tyres at the moment.

I'd like to run some wider tyres.

Can i use '29er' tyres on these wheels? If anyone can give me a 'simpletons' explanation i'd be grateful?

Thanks

Yes, but only up to the maximum width recommended for the rim.

The rim diameter is the same, so the bead will fit no problem. The issue is how well supported a big volume 29er tyre will be by the width of rim you've got. Depending on the width of your FSA wheels you're probably OK with 2" tyres.

Is the diameter the same - thought 700c was a little smaller?
29er tyres seem a bit baggy on 700c rims to me, but I've only used a couple of combinations.

Thats spot on. Thanks.

Not looking to run anything wider than a 2.0 tyre so reckon that should be ok...

Can anyone recommend a good 2.0 29er tyre?

Thanks

Conti Race King 2.0 rear Speed king 2.0 front. Grips more than they should apparently!

ace. that's what i hopefully have sat at home waiting for me ๐Ÿ™‚

Open pros are a bit more narrow than my shimano rims too so should be good.

Not quite sure what the bike will ride like with them on though...
