We will be in touch
Hi all,
I'm just looking to test my logic here.
I have a 'Chosen' 20mm front hub on an Alex rim- it's one of the well priced Raleigh 'probuild' ones.
I need it to run 15mm now. Chosen make a new axle and end caps but Raleigh won't get one for me and Chosen won't sell direct. I can find nothing online about it other than on Chosen's website.
So, I've tried my Superstar Switch 15mm in it in place of the Chosen 20mm ones- they fit but the hub is too narrow. The caps apparently make up some of the width on this hub. So the axle is slightly narrower than most.
The hub uses the same 6805 bearings as Nukeproof and Superstar hub. So, if I was to purchase the Nukeproof sub axle (which I think is a tad wider) with the NP end caps for 15mm would it work? I think it will. Although the one variable is the width of the hub body. Of course the bearings need to be the correct width apart to properly fit the axle and the hub. I can't determin if the bearings sit in the hub body or butt against the axle. I guess that's the last thing I need to know right?
Any ideas or thoughts welcome. This is driving me nuts!
