Hi All,
Any recommendations for a good mountain bike maintenance book. One that includes full suss bikes.
Or do people just youtube/check forums/magazines?
Thanks!
Youtube, tech blogs (e.g. from Fox or SRAM) and some care.
pink bike tech tuesday is good, most manufactures put strip down rebuild guides up for routine stuff.
Brilliant, thanks. Doesn't seem much point spending on books when there is so much info on T'Internet
Park tools website is very good, youtube for the rest.
Was wondering if the Park Tools book is any good for a definitive how to?
Problem with any book is standards, or the lack thereof. They go out of date so fast, and so many hobs/brakes/etc are so different that Youtube and/or manufacturer websites are your best bet.
Mavis do lovely clear, concise videos on hub maintenance, for example.
Equally good, but in a different way, are Hope's ones, delivered in a thick, no-nonsense accent by this likeable chap
Better than any book. SRAM do good Tech videos too, and the PinkBike Tech Tuesdays are usually good too.
That Hope mechanic is responsible for me saying to myself just about every time I tighten up a bolt "Just nip it up"
Yeah - always enjoyed his turn of phrase. When he's talking about fitting a bearing, he uses "don't keep braying at it".
The sram ones are good it's probably why my juicys still work perfectly.
Was going to say Rabbit Run by John Updike
