lift the bars, push forward and unweight the rear. Keep toes angles slightly downwards and with a slight amount of "rearward" pull.

The only way I could get it was for someone too show me. No amount of description worked - someone had to see what I was doing wrong.

In fact, start by rollign slowly along the flat, then tilt your toes down and pull back with them a little (binds you to your pedals better), then with arms and legs do a little hop, you should be able to get both wheels up. Then progress to the first method when you feel more comfy. What people dont realise is effectively you're just tryign to jump your body up and pull the bike with you.

Again, ask kids but be prepared to have the piss taken.
If that fails, get some SPD's!!! ๐Ÿ™‚

practice picking the back wheel up without lifting the front - then lift the bars at the same time. worked for me many years ago!

To do a proper bunny-hop, you need to be able to do a good manual first (i.e. a coasting wheelie). A proper bunny-hop is a two stage thing - manual to get the front wheel up, then lift the rear wheel.

As mentioned above, angling your toes down helps with grip for getting the rear wheel up.

this is what we done as kids. Build yourself a little ramp, nothing silly, then set yourself a bar to jump over, as in the high jump. Keep practising clearing the bar then try taking the ramp away and using the same action.

Keep trying, it will come eventually.

i could bunnyhop a long time before i could wheelie let alone manual. you just roll your body forward to pull up on the bars and then when the front wheel's off the ground press your feet back into the pedals and kick back and up. that's it.

Personally I found my hopping skills only arrived when i followed some of the online tuition for trialsing. This then got me into trials.

These help more than anything, but you have to watch and learn, rather than just watch and be amazed lol
