are they interchangeable? can i use shimano brake and gear cable on campag ergo shifters? is generic cable interchangeable?

IIRC campag nipples are slightly smaller than Shimano, so will fit Shimano, but I had a problem with some Xenon ergo levers using generic cables whereby the brake cable nipples were slightly too big for the recess, but AFAIK campag have now gone with the flow.

hmm so they might not fit ergo's

halfords say they do universal cable for mtb and road, cheap stuff but worth a go?

Campag uses slightly narrower brake cable ends, so you need their cables. Or shimano/other cables and grind/file down the stops a bit ๐Ÿ™‚ This is based on pre-goofy lever shape experience.

2010 onwards Campag US requires specific cablesets as the shifter outer is smaller diameter than pre US models.
